Choosing a career
Posted January 5, 2014
on:When you attend year 9, you know that soon enough you will have to make a few decisions concerning your future.
Then you start asking yourself questions:
- Should I get a job or go on studying?
- If I get a job, what kind of job should I look for?
- If I go on studying, what sort of subjects or course should I pick?
- A vocational course? A regular one? Which career should I choose ?
- …
Well, maybe these are the wrong questions. First you have to analyse yourself.
You need to think about your personality, your interests and your skills.
- What are you like? What kind of person?
- What areas, hobbies are you interested in?
- What are you good at?
- What do you imagine yourself doing in about 10 years?
- …
Getting an answer to those questions might help you choose a future.
You can also get some help from specialised websites which try to give young people a hand to choose a career path.
Take a look at those two links below. They provide two quizzes that could help you.
