Reporting

Sometimes we need to report what other people said, for example phone conversations, news, messages, etc.

This involves quite a few changes depending on the type of sentence. Look at this example:

reported_speach

One of the main changes are verb tenses which should change as shown here:

tab_reported

However, there are other changes that take place in the sentence as well:

reported speech ptc

Watch this video and pay attention to the characters reporting the situations:

Among all the gadgets, cell phones seem to be youngsters’ favourite one. Why is that so?

Cell-Phone

Some people say they distract students and as a result their performance at school is negatively affected.

Watch this short animation on the subject:

What-Career-Should-I-Choose-294x300

When you attend year 9, you know that soon enough you will have to make a few decisions concerning your future.

Then you start asking yourself questions:

  • Should I get a job or go on studying?
  • If I get a job, what kind of job should I look for?
  • If I go on studying, what sort of subjects or course should I pick?
  • A vocational course? A regular one? Which career should I choose ?

Well, maybe these are the wrong questions. First you have to analyse yourself.

You need to think about your personality, your interests and your skills.90d901321f8867c5a53f82c4471c8f26

  • What are you like? What kind of person?
  • What areas, hobbies are you interested in?
  • What are you good at?
  • What do you imagine yourself doing in about 10 years?

Getting an answer to those questions might help you choose a future.

You can also get some help from specialised websites which try to give young people a hand to choose a career path.

Take a look at those two links below. They provide two quizzes that could help you.
